Summer Shopping Fun

As summer is drawing to a close (boo hoo), I'm also wrapping up my summer shopping and hoping to get my room just right before the big day.

I've been showing you some of my Fabulous Finds over the last few weeks, but I've been focusing on products that I can't live without, rather than show you everything that I've purchased. (And...some of my fabulous finds have been items I've had forever.)

This is the post to show you "everything else" and link up with my good buddy, Kristen.  Her linky is for the fun purchases that I've made.

So, here goes:

I decided to purchase these babies instead of trying to be crafty.  I'm a crafty girl, but sometimes it's just easier to buy them...just sayin':

I bought them in lime green, hot pink, purple and blue.  Are you at all surprised?  I bought mine at Party City.

My bulletin boards are all covered in black fabric which I bought at Hobby Lobby.  I'm loving how everything on it is able to "pop" as my daughter would say.

The borders, for one, are able to "pop" and they look great against the black. These are borders from Teacher Created Resources and I love them:

I also bought solid purple and hot pink.  {I know, I know...I'm obsessed.}

I bought these to hold name tags on my desks for all three classes that I will be teaching.

I was toying with the idea of using a library pocket holder, but a teacher friend at school told me about these.  I'm going to cut three different strips of paper (and put the names of students on them) for the pockets.  Each class will have a different color.  I'll choose three colors.  Wanna guess which three?

I have bought ribbon out the ying-yang.  I'm not kidding.  Luckily, I always purchase my rolls from Hobby Lobby when they are 1/2 off.

OK, that's enough for now.  Otherwise, I might feel sick to my stomach a little.

If you haven't had a chance to link up with Kristen yet, you should head on over and do so.

Also, while I'm speaking of Kristen...have you seen her alphabet?  It is good lookin'! You can check it out at her Teacher Notebook store.  It looks great in my room and I can't wait to show you soon.

  5. Thanks for your posts. I'm new to fourth grade this year and I am enjoying seeing the the things you do and the different ways you organize. Question about the name tag pockets... who makes them? I will be teaching 3 sections of LA and would love to order these instead of cutting 85+ pieces of contact paper :)

    Thanks!

  6. Are the pom pom things you bought from Party City durable? ... More than tissue paper that you would use to make your own?? I was going to make about 10, but if I can buy them ... that may be a better option ... THANKS
