Fabulous Find "Final" Friday

Happy Friday everyone.  This is
My
Last
Friday
of
Summer.

Boo hoo!  So, this will be the final week of Fabulous Find Friday.
I may do this same kind of linky once a month if there is interest.  But, I'm just being reasonable that with my return to the "real world", I just won't be able to keep this up (especially on a Friday). Right?

So, let me share with you one final FAB.U.LOUS find that I can't live without:

It's my Cricut.  I have seen a lot of love for the Silhouette out there right now, and I'm probably a little jealous of that fancy machine, but this little bargain has paid off for me so far.  I just have the small version (not even sure what style or model number) that only holds 6 x 12 paper.  I have always thought that this tiny machine has been all that I need.  Now that I'm seeing more creations out there, I'm beginning to dream about a larger, better machine.  But for now, this one is JUST FINE :)

I have cut out all kinds of letters.  Right now, I am borrowing my favorite cartridge from my teaching buddy (hey, Charlene).  I think this is the third year in a row that I have borrowed this cartridge.  Sadly, she told me this week that you can't find it anywhere online...so I guess I will have to continue to borrow it forever because I love this font:

Yep, it's the Mickey Font.  I love Disney, but that's not the only reason I love it.  The font is nice and chunky.  Which I love...nice and chunky.  That sentence would sound weird out of context.

Well, there you have it.  My final fabulous find.  Off to make more things on the Cricut before heading back to school one final time before I HAVE to on August 14th.  I have spent so much time up there this summer because this is the first summer we have been allowed to do so.  I'm excited about how my room looks, excited about how organized I finally feel, and ready for a wonderful school year.  I'll be sharing my pictures next week after I can get my dad to come up to the school with his fancy camera.

  1. Enjoy your last week of freedom and remember - no painting! :)

And it is completely reasonable because the start of school is always very busy.

But I just wanted to say thank you to you for having this great link up because I loved learning new things and getting myself prepared for school.

  6. I love my Cricut! Everything in my classroom seems to be vinyled!

Have you checked eBay for cartridges? That is where I have bought all mine. They are a little cheaper, and you can find lots of retired ones. Hopefully, your Mickey one will be available!

    1. ProudParents2005 is an awesome seller on EBAY for cricut cartridges. I've never had an issue getting them from there and they are reasonably priced. I never pay over $35 for a cartridge unless it's retired and I really, really want it. :)

  7. I absolutely LOVE my cricut too! I am definitely jealous of the cameo too...but I don't think the Mr. will let me have both just yet. It was like pulling teeth to get the cricut. (And yours is the Cricut Personal. The newer model of that is the Cricut Mini). I have the Expression that does 12x12 or 12x24 paper. I am making tons of things for my room with it. Definitely worth buying it!

Thanks for hosting the party. I'm glad to be a part of it!

  8. Elizabeth,
I HATE it that I just found your Fabulous Finds last week...I totally missed the boat on that one, but I'm hosting my first linky party right now, and hope you'll link up!

  11. Hi Elizabeth,
I also have a Cricut and a Cricut Expression (the big one but the older version). If there is a cartridge you can't find you should go to the Cricut website and download Cricut Craftroom. It allows you to use that usb port on the back of your Cricut and attach it to your computer. It links up any cartridges you already have, you can manipulate sizes and shapes and also buy digital versions of cartridges online. It also allows you to do more with your cartridges, too. And best of all, it's FREE! How's that for a Fantastic Find! Try it out, it's awesome!

Just checked and the Mickey Font is available on Cricut Craftroom and you can buy the digital version from Cricut.com for $39.99 to use in Craftroom. Just wanted to let you know.

  13. Cute font! I do not have a Cricut or a Cameo but was talking to one of my friends and she gave me the lowdown on purchasing a Cameo at a discount better than the teacher discount and it wasn't something you wait for someone to throw off a truck (My Big Fat Greek Wedding Reference there), so I'm hoping a Cameo is in my future soon! :)
