Mama Said There'd Be Days Like This...

Ummmmmmmmmmmmmm

Hello?

Look closely.

No, not at the pedi (thank goodness I just had one)...

Yep, those are two different colored shoes.

That's how I went to school today.

Seriously.

Here's the best part....I didn't even realize it until my co-worker came up to me and said, "Elizabeth, did you realize you have on two different colored shoes?"

We were in the middle of switching classes.

I busted out laughing so loud the entire pod echoed.

This was at about 9:30.  We start school at 7:30.  I went THAT long without anyone noticing (including myself).

Funny, huh?

This just goes to show you how crazy my year has been so far.  'Nuf said.  How about you? Is your year off to a crazy start?

Don't you just love that I felt the need to put "Fun in Room 4B" on the picture?  Like you'd pin it or something.

I crack myself up.

Have a great night, y'all.

  4. That's too funny!!! I did something similar today too- completely left my keys to my car, apartment, and gym in the classroom so had to call someone to come get me to even be able to go home. I should note I walk to and from school. What a day!

  5. At least your toes looked pretty in them!
Last week I had a parent ask if I had intended to leave my car doors open--or should she close them...

  6. That is hilarious! I'm sure I will do this someday! Just last week my coffee lid popped off mid sip leaving me with a huge stain minutes before the bell! Of course, that was the only day I didn't bring a sweater! The kids must think we are crazy sometimes! :)

  10. Many years ago, I was walking in to school and the secretary looked down and had on two different shoes and had to run home. I learned that day to never buy the same shoe in two different colors!!!! (I do have balck and brown Reefs)

  11. I had a teacher friend at my school do that very same thing. At least your 2 shoes looked the same. Her's were completely 2 different shoes. She was trying them on to see which pair matched and then she had to take care of her son and never remembered to go back and change one. Note - this is the same teacher that came to school with only one cheek done (makeup) one time. We called her "one-cheek" for a long time! I love that we (teacher friends) can laugh with (and at) each other!

  14. I started at a new school this year and on the first report day. I got to school and got out of my car and realized I had on two different tennis shoes, don't think I would of noticed then except the shoe laces were different colors. Thank goodness I had a pair of flip flops in my car as I was going to the gym after work. So most of the staff saw me changing shoes in the parking lot. What a way to make a first impression.
Once I was interviewing and the lady interviewing me had on two different color of shoes and mid interview she put her shoes on the desk and said look at this. I would have never seen if she wouldn't have put them up on the desk. There was another person in on the interview and we all laughed so hard.

  18. Very funny! They are the same style which is nice. I am always "outsmarting" myself by putting things in obvious places. Then 10 mins later I can't find them. I usually say, "Where did I put___?" The kids always point to right where it is!

Good luck with putting on matching shoes tomorrow!

  19. I did the exact same thing about 5 years ago - the very sad thing is that I didn't notice until bus duty AT THE END OF THE DAY!!!! My excuse for not noticing was that I had on long pants and I couldn't see........ I'm surprised that I haven't done something like that this year - it's been a CRAZY start. I'm just praying things will calm down!!

  20. I needed a laugh this morning! :)

I've done that before and didn't even realize until I went to the dentist for a cleaning and had to prop my feet up in the chair. Sad thing is, I had just bought the shoes and they came that way in the box and I didn't even notice! Needless to say, we both had a pretty good laugh about it.

  21. That is awesome!! I have totally done that. :) thank you for sharing that. It made my night!!!

  23. I'm glad I'm not the only one! Years ago someone stopped me in the hall to ask why I was wearing two different shoes. I looked down to realize I had the same style shoe in two different colors. Mine were blue and red. Kinda extremely different! Oh well.

  26. I love this story because it happened to me too! You know in the morning when you're trying to decide which shoe to wear? Well, I never decided! I almost died because shoes are my thing! So, I made it a secret contest to see which student would notice first! It wasn't until 10:00! Luckily, my husband was off and brought me a matching shoe at 10:30. My colleagues thought it was so funny that the following Friday they all wore two different shoes until 10:00. (It makes for a great personal narrative to model for your class!!!)
