Have You Heard of Study Jams?

This site is incredible.  Seriously.

Developed and run by Scholastic, this site offers a ton of videos for Math and Science.  Whoop, whoop!

When you visit, click on the tab for either Math or Science.

Um, of course, I clicked on Math.

There are a multitude of options.  You can click on "See All Topics" or scroll through the slide show of topics.  Of course, my focus was on fractions right now.

Look at the flood of videos!  Love them.

Wanna know what I like best? They are short.  Under 3 minutes tops.  Maybe even less.  We all know that we can't go much further than that, or we've lost them.

Head on over and check them out for yourselves.

Oh, and yes, they are FREE :)

Cool!

  2. I LOVE this site and so do my students! I am with you, I think the best part is how quick they are. I used one for fractions and decimals the other day and it only took a few minutes...they were totally invested and it gave me a second to pass out materials so we could start taking notes on what we saw. It's awesome! You are so smart to share the resource!

  3. Ahh thank you for sharing!! My students need all of the visual reinforcement they can get.. and for some reason looking at me is never as exciting as watching a video on the SmartBoard (weird..). I can't wait to use these videos for math! Thanks!! =)

  6. I'm so glad that y'all can use it. I showed my students one today and they "got it" pretty quickly. I then quizzed them with dry erase boards and they did great :)
